Why safety?

We used to be 'do-ers' ourselves, and saw deliberate safety management as nothing more than a pain in the backside, slowing things down, and driving up costs (price, schedule blow-out etc). Things had always been done a certain way; and, if you got hurt, well, it was your own fault.

Thankfully, we grew up. We gained various experiences (some that still make our hair stand on end when remembered - see below), we matured, and we finally came to understand that safety isn't a 'bolt on' piece of bureaucracy. It's the way things should have always been. Safety spans everything.

Have you ever seen:

  • acid from a spray bottle curl around and get the bottle holder in the eye?
  • a tradie crushed between the side of a ship, and the wharf?
  • ropes exceed their limits, break, and snap-back towards the teams or person tending them?
  • someone close their eyes or turn their head when welding or grinding?
  • someone very nearly fall into a wood-chipper?
  • a de-gloved finger?
  • rope burn?
  • someone at work on the receiving end of bullying, or any form of unacceptable behaviour?
  • someone struck by lightning at work?
  • someone hip-and-shoulder a tree on a motorbike because they fell asleep while riding?
  • a boss 'tick-and-flick' a safety checklist, call it a toolbox, and not actually put in place the required safety measures?

We have.

It's these incidents (and more) that gave us the motivation to do what we now do.

Effective and reliable safety management hinges upon the right behaviours demonstrated by those in charge, and by those who are to be kept safe (occasionally, from themselves).

Whether you're a business owner or manager, an arborist or administrator, a HVAC technician or hospo worker, you need to understand and apply the relevant system in your workplace to keep operations running safely and smoothly.

Q-Route draws upon current requirements (both yours and legislative) and common sense (a dangerous term), and calling upon a decent network of professionals across many industries and sectors.

Would you rather chat to us, or the Coroner?

Where should we meet? Online, phone, office, job site - whatever works for you. We know you're busy.
