A full-time Safety Advisor currently runs at around $125K-$145K a year (figures from Seek.com.au 17 September 2025).

A full-time Safety Manager currently runs at around $150K-$170K+ a year (figures from Seek.com.au 17 September 2025).

→ Internal safety staff are productive (contributing to something tangible or billable) around 50-65% of their day. The rest of the time? Travel, meetings, exploring options on Seek, looking busy, coffees and gossip.

Consultants are productive 70-85% of their day. Why so much more? They are paid to get shit done, typically get paid on deliver only, and you only have them when you need them.

That means, an internal staff member will give you an average of $125-$170/hr value (depending on their role/rate). Q-Route will get you a superior outcome for around 25% less cost and 30-40% faster than someone in-house. The value to you as business owner is significantly greater.
